Before the S-Class, there was the 300 S. It was hand-built, very expensive in its day, and only a few hundred were made. Long sweeping wings, a tall chrome grille, an ivory steering wheel and a wood dashboard. This is how a Mercedes looked when it was built for the few.

In 1951, Mercedes showed the 300 S at the Paris Motor Show, and it became one of the most wanted cars in the world. It had a straight-six engine, sweeping wings and an interior made by craftsmen. Kings, film stars and business leaders drove them. Each one took months to build. Mercedes’ 1950s flagship coupé, now in 1:18. For the garage you’re building in scale.
